Here at Norfolk Frames we have set up access keys for your use. Access key allows a computer user to immediately jump to a specific part of a web page via the keyboard. We have set up these specific keys in order to help you navigate the site quickly and limit the possible conflict with existing access keys. These keys can be found in the footer of this website. Details of how these keys work can be found below.
Windows users can navigate with the access key feature by typing ALT+Accesskey. On the Mac, you would use CTRL+Accesskey (not COMMAND+Accesskey, which can produce undesired effects). Internet Explorer users may also need to hit the “enter” key to activate a link. Below is a list of browsers and information on how to activate the hot keys.
| Browser | What to do |
|---|---|
| Internet Explorer 5+ (PC) | Hold down the ALT key, press the number of the access key, release both keys then press ENTER |
| Internet Explorer 4 (PC) | Hold down the ALT key and press the number of the access key |
| Netscape 6 and earlier (PC and Mac) | Access keys are not supported |
| Internet Explorer 5+ (Mac) | Hold down the CTRL key and press the number of the access key |
| Internet Explorer 4.5 (Mac) | Access keys are not supported |
| Netscape 7 (PC) | Hold down the ALT key and press the number of the access key |

| Safari and Omniweb (Mac) | Hold down the CTRL key and press the number of the access key |

Windows users will find that accesskeys take precedence over application commands, which can still be accessed from the keyboard by first typing the menu shortcut key (usually ALT) followed by the letter corresponding to the desired menu item.
