Construction line
Construction Line

Constructionline is the UK's register of local and national construction and construction-related contractors and consultants, pre-qualified to work within the public sector.

Constructionline is owned by the Department of Trade and Industry and was set up in 1998. Constructionline is designed to streamline procurement procedures, reducing supplier and client costs and wasted time and effort at the pre-qualification stage, rendering the construction industry more efficient and effective.

Norfolk Frames has met strict pre-qualification requirements agreed by industry working groups and was awarded the accreditation.

British Standards Institution
British Standards Institution

BSI's registered certification mark, the Kitemark, and its Registered Firm symbol are instantly recognised by customers and suppliers respectively, promoting a company's reliability and commitment to product quality. The Kitemark combines BSI Testing's extensive facilities and ability to certify products against almost any existing British, European or International Standard with the industry sector experience and knowledge gained over many years. The result is a world-renowned certificate which carries the authority of BSI. With the advent of new European legislation in the shape of the New Approach Directives manufacturers are being forced to look carefully at their products. The directives require manufacturers to ensure that their products are safe and fit for the purpose they were originally intended for before they are put on sale in the Community market.

Norfolk Frames quality management system is BSI certified, entitling the company to produce ‘kite marked’ window and door systems.

Contractor Health and Safety Assessment
CHAS

The Contractor Health and Safety (CHAS) Assessment Scheme has been developed over recent years by Local Authority health and safety and procurement professionals. It is available for any public sector organisation to use in the pre-qualification process for contractor application. The purpose of the CHAS scheme is to provide assessment criteria that health and safety professionals can apply to the health and safety element of a contractor application. The scheme assesses:

  • Adequacy and compliance of the health and safety policy statement
  • Specific arrangements to a single, common standard acceptable to CHAS members and users

Selecting contractors who have demonstrated these standards ensures compliance with health and safety law.
